The Malawi Chino

Handwoven textile sourced from the High Atlas Plateau

Craftsmanship & Technique

The Malawi Chino is a study in organic warmth and quiet structure. Each piece is hand-braided and hand-finished, preserving subtle irregularities that reveal the maker’s hand. The weave is intentionally generous, designed to soften the geometry of mountain architecture while remaining tailored and composed.

Origin

Marrakech, Morocco

Texture & Feel

High-relief, substantial hand-braid with a soft, dry hand. Underfoot, the Malawi Chino feels cushioned yet grounded—ideal for anchoring generous seating groups and heavy timber pieces without overwhelming the room.

Suggested Placement

Designed for primary living rooms, great rooms, and owner’s suites. The Malawi Chino is especially at home beneath large-scale sectionals, in front of stone fireplaces, or in quiet reading corners where texture and warmth are essential.

Care Instructions

Vacuum regularly with a brushless head and rotate every 6–12 months to balance wear and light. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth—do not rub. For deep cleaning, work with a professional rug specialist experienced with handwoven wool textiles. Avoid steam cleaning and harsh chemicals.

Materials

80% Highland Wool, 20% Organic Cotton
